The Russian Ministry of Defense acknowledged that Ukrainian forces maintain a presence on islands in the Dnipro River delta as of May 7.

The Russian MoD claimed on May 7 that Russian forces struck a Ukrainian special forces "center" on Velykyi Island (23km SW of Kherson City).
