Hello internautes, Paris is calling!

I want to tell you a little story, but not the one I told you already about a plucky little website at fedi.paris.

fedi.paris started off as a little project of love of wanting to have a French / Parisien fediverse blogging site on the internet, turns out that not a lot of people were interested by that and I moved on from it. It didn’t help that the machine it was hosted on at Oracle (for free) randomly stopped processes and rebooted, that caused the site to go down as well as me needing to invest time in keeping an eye on it.

Admittedly, I let it fall into a zombie instance until today.

I received the renewal warnings from my registrar to renew fedi.paris and I considered letting it go, but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to start using Plume again. I found a paid (but very cheap) VPS provider and started a new machine, new database, and new fedi.paris install to do things correctly this go.

I don’t think there will be external user accounts, maybe one day, or if somebody is interested in just trying I’d be happy to let you in (just ask tech at fedi.paris).

But here we are, giving it a go. #LLAP 🖖
